Name
Wiring the Classroom: Neuro-Pedagogy for the ADHD Brain
Description
During our time together, participants will learn about the unique circuitry of the brain of students with ADHD. Participants will learn how these learners vary in their functioning of the prefrontal cortex and how students with ADHD deal with the “signal” and the “noise”. Participants will be immersed in interactive activities that help simulate what students with ADHD feel, see and hear. Participants will also be able to dive into the Dopamine Transfer Deficit Theory to understand what fuels a students brain with ADHD. Participants will then play a game simulation that helps show the difference between how a neurodivergent brain functions. Lastly, participants will begin to look at how movement increases learner capability. Participants will leave with steps on how to become a “neurochemical engineer”.
