Raising Healthy Humans in a Digital World
Description
Subtitle: Using Mindfulness to Help Children Thrive in the Age of Technology - Technology is woven into the fabric of modern life and yet the way we often use it today poses serious risks to child development. Undermanaged screen use undermines attention, behavior, mental and physical health, and learning. The challenge is even more intense with ADHD, as symptoms such as being easily bored, novelty seeking and hyper- focus are a perfect mismatch for healthy screen use. At the same time, technology isn't the enemy. Used intentionally, it holds real potential to enrich children's lives. The question is: how do we get there? This session explores mindfulness as a practical framework for adults who work with and care for children. By cultivating awareness and compassion in our own relationship with technology, we become better equipped to help children navigate an increasingly complex and messy online world with intention, balance, and resilience.
