When Insight Isn’t Enough: Adapting CBT and ACT for Adult ADHD
Description
Many adults with ADHD already know what to do. The problem isn’t insight, it’s being able to access that insight when it actually matters.
Traditional CBT and ACT approaches often assume that clients can pause, reflect, and follow through. For adults with ADHD, that pause is inconsistent. This is where treatment often breaks down.
This session focuses on how to adapt evidence-based CBT and ACT strategies so they actually work in real time. Attendees will learn how to make interventions shorter, more concrete, and more behaviorally anchored, while integrating simple physiological and environmental supports that help bridge the gap between knowing and doing.
This is not a theory-heavy session. It is designed for clinicians who want practical, in-the-room strategies that translate into action.
