Raffael Boccamazzo, PsyD (or just “Dr. B” as most call him), is a clinical psychologist in Washington State whose career has overwhelmingly existed at the intersection of geeks, gamers, and mental health. He co-founded Save Point Behavioral Health in 2018 with the intention of creating a mental health space where geeky hobbies and careers can be honored with the nuance and understanding they deserve. Outside his role at Save Point, Dr. B continues to have an engaged and varied career:
•Consulting psychologist and repeated contributor (on and off-camera) to the YouTube channel How to ADHD.
•Technical consultant on mental health media representation. Past examples include games like Psychonauts 2 (plus its corresponding art book) and shows like Dropout TV’s Mentopolis;
•Autism and ADHD self-advocate and speaker.
•Former clinical director and author at Take This – the oldest mental health nonprofit in the game community.
•Co-hosted the award-winning, mental health stream Champions of Psychology.
•Expert, workshop leader, and consultant on the applied use of tabletop roleplaying games in clinical settings.
