Dr. Reneh Karamians is a core faculty member at The Chicago School beginning in June of 2023. Dr. Karamians is a graduate of Pepperdine University and completed his internship at the Erie Consortium where he worked primarily in physical medicine serving as a neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology intern. He then moved on the complete his postdoctoral training at The Ohio State University's (OSU) Wexner Medical Center, where he continued his clinical work in Physical Medicine as a Rehabilitation and Neuropsychology fellow. During his time at OSU, Dr. Karamians worked alongside experts in the fields of traumatic brain injury and stroke rehabilitation. He also participated, in various capacities, within two Model Systems projects including, Spinal Cord Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury. Dr. Karamians' most recent publication, entitled Effectiveness of virtual reality-and gaming-based interventions for upper extremity rehabilitation poststroke: a meta-analysis was published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Currently, Dr. Karamians is running a private practice (Downtown Behavioral Neurosciences and Psychology) in Downtown Los Angeles, where practicum students can practice neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology under his supervision. Dr. Karamians is also running a lab working with EEG investigating the use of this technology to detect malingering in neuropsychological testing.
