Description
Mindfulness and eating are a natural fit. Often, we pay little attention to what we're eating, relying on habits that may not always benefit us. Healthy eating flourishes with moment-to-moment awareness, conscious decision-making, and responsiveness rather than reactivity under stress. Essentially, mindful eating means paying full attention to the act of eating—simple in theory but challenging in practice. Equally important is self-compassion, acknowledging that eating habits are emotionally charged, difficult to change, and frequently trigger self-criticism. By cultivating patience, awareness, and compassion through mindful eating, we can enjoy practical benefits and foster a healthier, more enjoyable relationship with food.
